NaPoWriMo Day 4: Lunes and a Lunar Eclipse

The prompt for day three is to to write a lune, in the Jack Collom form, that is a three line stanza with 3 words, then five words and a final line of three.  Lunes are also known as the American haiku and there are several different variants, you can read more about them here.  Although lunes need contain no form besides the word count specific to each variant, I have decided to stick to the traditional Haiku model of using nature and the seasons as my themes.

the cookie monster
has taken a bite out
of the moon

the moon shrouded
in a haze of red
while dogs howl

it is over,
the moon whole and silver
life goes on
